At PQA we take looking after your children very seriously. We want our academies to be safe and secure environments where children are free to learn, grow and be their amazing selves.
Each academy has a PQA Principal or Vice Principal at every session, who is non-teaching, supernumerary and responsible for the safe and smooth running of the academy including ensuring all safeguarding measures are in place and maintained.
However, we believe safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, so all team members need to complete regular courses in child protection through our safeguarding partner the Child Protection Company. This includes their e-safety training which provides guidelines in managing technology, including social media. In addition, PQA Principals and Vice Principals are required to regularly complete face to face safeguarding training.
All team members, and indeed anyone, who is likely to come into contact with your children at PQA must have an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) in England and Wales and subscribe to the Update Service. In Scotland, they must join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG).
Every academy session will have at least two first-aiders present.
We have a central dedicated Safeguarding Team, who offer professional help and guidance to our teams via a 24 hour a day, 365 days a year support line, for any situations or concerns that may occur.
We understand that in this fast-moving technological world it can be challenging for parents and guardians to navigate it and so to assist you we are delighted to be able to offer a FREE e-safety course to all our members' parents or guardians through our partnership with the Child Protection Company.
