Our Principals and teaching teams are dedicated to nurturing each student’s potential. By tailoring projects and providing personalised feedback, we ensure every young person feels supported and inspired to reach their goals—whether they dream of a career in the performing arts or simply want to have fun, make friends, and build new skills.
Beyond expert-led classes in drama, musical theatre and filmmaking, PQA students gain access to incredible opportunities designed to nurture their development. From masterclasses with industry professionals to exciting performances and exclusive events like the Stage & Screen Awards, every element of PQA membership celebrates the unique journey of each student.
Every child enjoys the thrill of live performance at least once a year, whether through public productions, internal showcases, or performances at professional venues. These events showcase the breadth of skills developed in the academy, from devised and scripted works to improvisation and musical theatre. Taking to the stage builds confidence, fosters creativity, and provides moments of joy for children and their families.
PQA isn’t just about the stage—it’s about the screen, too. Every year, students see their hard work come to life during film screenings. These can range from red-carpet events at cinemas to screenings in academy spaces, where students celebrate their filmmaking achievements. The North & South Film Festivals are a highlight, bringing together talent from across our academies each year.
As part of the Film & TV module, every child participates in at least two short film projects each year. From writing and directing to acting and production design, young people gain hands-on experience in all aspects of filmmaking. The finished films are screened locally, showcased at competitions, and featured on PQATV, giving young filmmakers a platform to shine.
To broaden their skills and inspire new passions, students benefit from at least one masterclass per year, led by visiting industry professionals. These specialists bring expertise and insights, enhancing the learning experience with fresh perspectives from the world of performing arts.
The PQA Stage & Screen Awards celebrate student achievements across all classes, highlighting creativity, collaboration, and individual growth. Our bespoke attainment model ensures every child is recognised for their progress, creating an inspiring sense of accomplishment that motivates them to continue excelling.
PQA students can live the dream of performing in the West End! Each year, our academies take to the stage at His Majesty’s Theatre in London’s Theatreland, starring in a professionally produced musical written exclusively for PQA. From rehearsals at their local academies to the magic of show night, this unforgettable experience, available to each academy session group on a regular basis, builds confidence and fosters a lifelong love of performance.
