Located at Wolverhampton Grammar School, PQA Wolverhampton is a weekend performing arts academy providing classes in comedy, acting, filmmaking, and musical theatre for kids and teens.
Welcome to PQA Wolverhampton! Our vibrant morning academy has been inspiring young performers for over 10 years, and we’re proud to have introduced an additional set of Saturday afternoon classes more than 4 years ago.
Our classes are project-based, encouraging creativity and giving young people a sense of ownership in their work. Previous projects have explored themes like Roald Dahl, Shakespeare, Movie Musicals, and Acting Through Song. Our young filmmakers have excelled in PQA’s national film competitions, with entries winning in the last two contests we participated in.
At PQA, our primary aim is to help students build self-belief. Whether it’s a child bravely stepping forward in class or a confident student excelling on stage, we celebrate every milestone. Through engaging and enjoyable classes, we nurture skills and techniques that develop both inner confidence and performing ability.
Our dedicated team, many holding master’s degrees and professional experience, not only delivers exceptional classes but also creates opportunities for live theatre visits and performances in professional venues.
We also run popular Poppets classes for 4–5-year-olds, offering 90 minutes of fun activities designed just for them, with regular performances to showcase their progress.
Our primary target is confidence; it is just as rewarding, if not more, to see a child who lacks confidence step forward in class as it is to see a confident and experienced child do a great performance at show-time. We try to achieve this through fun and entertaining classes while incorporating the skills and techniques necessary to improve their performing ability.
