Alastair Millar

With 4 years of experience in the art department for television, Alastair has worked on a plethora of critically acclaimed series, including It's A Sin, Nolly, The Full Monty, Cobra and Hollyoaks. He has collaborated with some of the industry’s most talented designers, directors and producers to deliver high quality television within the allocated time and budget. In 2019, he graduated from the University of Bolton with a first-class BA Honours Degree in Media, Writing and Production. During his time in higher education, he gathered multiple accolades for his work, including two nominations from the Royal Television Society in the Drama and Documentary categories for his directing and editing. In his spare time, Alastair continues to develop self-funded film projects, including a feature film, which he is currently storyboarding. He also undertakes videography work, which has seen him collaborate with Crossbow Education, a leading manufacturer of specialist school equipment for dyslexic children, as well as his local church. His skills have also helped charitable causes: in 2020, he documented a sponsored haircut which helped raise over £12,350 for the NHS. After volunteering as a youth leader and children’s worker for many years, Alastair’s passion for educating and guiding the younger generation is stronger than ever. He is thrilled to be sharing his love of filmmaking to help inspire the next generation of creatives.

Thomas Millington

Tom is an award winning photographer and videographer, and has travelled the country filming fiction and non fiction films and content in some of the UK's most beautiful cities and event venues. As he nears the end of his University studies he is always looking for a new challenge, working on jobs within the film industry will prove as a useful resource for his teaching at PQA, as speaking on relevant and current topics within the industry will allow the students to receive front line knowledge on Film and TV that they won't get anywhere else. Tom's teaching style is a hybrid between interactive theory based learning with practical activities, as ‘The best way to learn Film and TV is by doing it!"
