PQA Barnsley, based at Barnsley Academy, offers performing arts classes for children and young adults in Comedy & Drama, Singing and Dancing, and Film & Television.
At PQA Barnsley, we welcome children aged 4 to 18 years to our academy where we provide excellent performing arts sessions to help them develop new skills, forge friendships and build on their self-belief in a safe and rewarding environment.
PQA not only offers exciting projects taught by a team of industry professionals, but we are passionate about every student’s personal journey giving them the life skills such as confidence, resilience and teamwork, which will serve well throughout their everyday lives too.
Our passionate team are here to guide and support your child, whether they are interested in exploring more about being onstage through our sessions in Comedy and Drama, Musical Theatre, or Film and Television, or encouraging them to look beyond the stage at the many different routes into the performing arts.

I am delighted to be Principal of PQA Sheffield and PQA Barnsley ; I feel very privileged to work with so many talented children from across the region. I studied music at Bretton Hall College, West Yorkshire and later did my teacher training at The Roehampton Institute in London. Since then, I have worked as a performing arts teacher in schools in London and Yorkshire.
