At PQA, we place a strong emphasis on the wellbeing and mindfulness of everyone in our care, providing a space where children and young people can truly be themselves—no matter how they grow and change—without fear of judgment. Through performing and screen arts, we encourage active participation that nurtures their personal development, curiosity, and optimism while building friendships and self-belief. Our academies help young people develop important life skills, grow in confidence, and have fun—all while feeling part of something special.
We aim to be as inclusive as possible, but we recognise that some children may have additional needs, such as SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) or complex behaviours. While we make every effort to accommodate all, there may be times when our academies aren’t fully equipped to support certain needs, and we can’t always guarantee that every child will be able to fully integrate into the classes.
Our free taster session offers a wonderful opportunity for both you and the Principal to assess whether PQA is the right fit for the student.
At PQA, we believe every child should have the chance to explore the exciting world of performing arts. We offer a free taster session for all new starters, giving them the opportunity to try out our classes and see how they feel, while also helping us understand how they engage and participate.
During the session, we encourage positive participation and engagement. If a child finds it challenging to engage, or if their behaviour affects the experience of others, the Principal will have a conversation with you to discuss the situation. This collaborative discussion will help us determine the best course of action, ensuring that their needs and well-being are prioritised. The decision will be made based on the child’s ability to participate constructively and positively in the activities.
We’re committed to creating a positive and inspiring environment where children can develop both their industry and life skills. Our academies use a variety of teaching methods, including student-led, project-based learning, where they learn by doing. With a focus on projects and performance outcomes, we encourage experiences that help students grow and build self-reliance in a creative, collaborative setting. We understand that this approach may not come easily to everyone.
