At PQA, we believe that learning should be both fun and professional, offering an environment where students can grow not only as performers but also as individuals. Our goal is for every student to leave with valuable skills in performing arts and life, while enjoying a safe, exciting space where they can be themselves, explore their creativity, and try new things. Regardless of how long they’re with us, we aim to help students develop greater confidence and self-esteem.

So, how do we achieve this?

We’re proud to offer something truly unique. Our academies do not follow a strict curriculum. Instead, our Principals handpick projects that best suit the needs and skills of our students at any given time. This allows us to provide a flexible, student-centred approach that adapts to each individual’s journey.

At PQA, we offer tailored learning for students aged 4-6 years (our Poppets classes) and 6-18 years (our Main Academy). Each age group is given the opportunity to flourish in an environment that supports their unique developmental needs.

This distinctive approach is woven into every class, whether for our 4-6-year-old Poppets or our Main Academy. We focus on performance, technical, social, and communication skills, ensuring that all students leave with not only industry knowledge but the confidence to take on whatever life brings.

Project-Based Learning

Project-Based Learning

At PQA, we embrace a student-led, project-based learning approach, where students learn through hands-on experiences. In our Main Academy, classes in filmmaking, musical theatre, and drama are filled with engaging projects that explore a variety of topics, themes, and genres within the performing arts. Similarly, our Poppets classes (for children aged 4-6) introduce young learners to these concepts through singing, dancing, acting, and storytelling. This approach makes learning fun, immersive, and deeply engaging, allowing students to explore their creative potential in an exciting, supportive environment.

Every project in our framework has a clear goal, ensuring that students feel a true sense of accomplishment. As they work toward these objectives, they not only develop valuable industry-specific skills but also life skills that will serve them far beyond the classroom. Students are continuously challenged and inspired to push their creative boundaries, with projects typically running between four to fourteen weeks, offering variety and exciting challenges throughout each term.

One of the most rewarding aspects of our approach is the opportunity for students to share their work with family and friends. Whether performing at the academy or showcasing their talent at a local venue, these moments allow students to celebrate their achievements, creating lasting memories and a sense of pride. At PQA, we are committed to sparking creativity and nurturing young talent. From the very first class, students are immersed in an environment where they don't just learn—they create, perform, and explore, making every lesson an opportunity to grow and shine.

Classes Tailored for Each Age Group

At PQA, our learning framework evolves with each age group, offering exciting and engaging projects as children develop. Whether children begin in our Poppets classes (ages 4-6) or the Main Academy (ages 6-18), they follow a structured progression based on age and ability.

When a child is ready to move into the Main Academy from Poppets, they start in the Green group, where they begin their new journey. In the Main Academy, children then progress through the Green, Blue, and Red groups as they grow older and more skilled.

Our approach focuses on creating a dynamic student experience, ensuring every child’s journey is filled with excitement, growth, and progression. We help each child reach their full potential through the development of skills and feedback in a collaborative environment. We are also committed to ensuring every voice is heard and celebrated. Our skills framework equips children with a wide range of performing arts skills, while our focus on wellbeing and mindfulness nurtures both their creative minds and emotional resilience. Above all, we encourage self-belief, empowering children to have the confidence to take on new challenges and shine in everything they do.

At PQA, every moment is an opportunity to discover, perform, and shine!
